Benn started his Digital Forensic Investigation career in a UK law enforcement Hi-Tech Crime Unit and later moved into the Counter Terrorism Unit. Benn joined the private sector conducting PCI Forensic Investigations (PFI), incident response, PCI DSS security assessments for many high profile corporate and public sector businesses.

Benn has been a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) since 2008 and has been investigating cardholder data compromises since 2007, then subsequently became a Core PCI Forensic Investigator (PFI) when the PCI Security Standards Council formed the PCI PFI Program a few years later.

Benn is the Managing Director of 3B Data Security, a niche provider of cyber security services, DFIR, data breach investigations, cyber security training, penetration testing and audit and advisory related services.
