Tim Cappalli is a Standards Architect at Okta where he works on standards and strategies for phishing-resistant authentication, digital identity wallets, security signal sharing for zero trust, identity-related Web Platform APIs, and content authenticity. He is an editor of the W3C Web Authentication Level 3 specification, a contributor to the Digital Credentials API, and a co-author of the OpenID Shared Signals Framework and Continuous Access Evaluation Profile specifications, as well as a maintainer of passkeys.dev. Previously, Tim was a standards architect at Microsoft, leading work on the first generation of passkeys and working closely with the FIDO Alliance, W3C, Google, Apple, developers, regulators, and other organizations to bring a new default phishing-resistant credential to the digital world.
