Despite recent high-profile breaches, the electronic payments industry taking off and security is top of mind for merchants, processors, financial institutions and other stakeholders. The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council is an open global forum that develops, maintains and manages the PCI Security Standards, which include the Data Security Standard (DSS), Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) and PIN Transaction Security (PTS) Requirements.
At this year’s PCI Security Standards Council North America Community Meeting, Eric Naiburg of INetU will discuss how PCI DSS compliance can occur in a cloud environment, debunking some of the myths around security and compliance in the cloud. Responsibilities grow beyond “four walls,” as does the complexity of ensuring compliance. With control spread across multiple parties, some risks may increase, but others can be reduced significantly as you bring on expertise with the ability to help manage it. Naiburg will leverage real examples to discuss how moving to the cloud can actually reduce risk, instead of adding to it, as well as key precautions to take in the cloud.
