FireMon: Press Release

FireMon Introduces Powerful Data Analysis Capabilities to PCI Community with Immediate Insight

Leader in security management will showcase the IT data analysis and discovery software at the PCI SSC Community Meeting in Vancouver.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., September 24, 2014 – FireMon, a leading provider of security management and analysis solutions, today announced that the company will participate in the PCI DSS North America Community Meeting, which will take place September 29 – October 1 in Vancouver. FireMon will be showcasing its real-time data analysis and discovery platform, Immediate Insight, in Booth #35.

FireMon’s Immediate Insight brings the speed and simplicity of a search engine to data analysis and discovery. It collects and correlates structured and unstructured IT data to help analysts and operations staff increase visibility and reduce the time and effort spent on incident triage.

For the PCI community, these capabilities deliver important efficiencies around:

  • Accessing and analyzing a variety of data including: IDS, vulnerability management feeds, IOC, application server logs, PCAP files, Excel documents and more
  • Discovery and investigation of suspicious behavior that may indicate a breach of card data
  • Collaboration across teams responsible for PCI-related domains such as Governance & Risk, Compliance and Security

“We are excited about the new capabilities Immediate Insight brings to the PCI community,” said Mark Carney, VP & GM of Immediate Insight. “In the wake of increasing card data breaches, Immediate Insight steps in to bridge the gap between event alerts and incident response by providing security analytics for rapid event triage.”

FireMon will be showcasing the Immediate Insight software in Booth #35.

“As we advance payment security to fight back against cybercrime, collaboration is crucial,” said Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council General Manager Stephen W. Orfei. “We’re pleased to have FireMon participating in our North America Community Meeting in Vancouver and in the work we are doing every day at the PCI Council to protect payment transactions globally.”
